If you're looking for something more portable this is also a good option.

All rooms have a ceiling fan and I allow them to have portable/window units (they pay all utilities).

The third option would be providing a portable unit, which may be an option.   

During the due diligence process (about week in) one of the tenants reached out to complain about the heat so I had my mom purchase a portable unit for them to use the next day.

It's possible the non-iOS tablets are better in those regards as the ease of portability and features is a big advantage over a laptop.

As far as the three days, I'm good for at least a week with food, water, portable gas-power shower, genie Angle refrigerators (2) and a power gate to the property...

Otherwise, my tip would be to get a couple kerosene portable heaters and keep your furnace turned off!

I assume space heaters are not acceptable if they are portable and not permanently installed.
