You can't tell them to get an epi pen but I went through the same thing with a tenant and at one point just stood in front of the tenant incredulous, your son is highly allergic and you don't have an epi really?

Fact is, there is plenty of wood in a block home (interior walls, roof system, etc) and I've seen block homes where the roof trusses and rafters were completely destroyed by termites.
