There are old house, barns, outbuildings and even a lighthouse all converted, and renovated into luxury homes.I've spoken and written before about charitable donation for real estate, and have personally donated property to a church, a college, Habitat for Humanity, local government, state government, and to a town to complete a local park. 

After Ike, tons of folks received checks for $28k with NO restrictions and I can tell you first hand that many of those folks used them for things like new motorcycles and other luxury items instead of repairing their properties.  

California seems to be more and more of a luxury to live in.

When Apple opened its spaceship HQ in Cupertino, I saw of the land adjacent to Apple campus sold for rock high prices and class A or luxury apt buildings build up to house tech workers.

You may be able to pull up the loose tiles intact and re-set them.If you are set on taking up the tile and looking for a replacement, consider luxury vinyl plank (LVP) or luxury vinyl tile (LVT).
