Initially I thought that flipping was the way for me to get my feet into this market but as I am doing reading and listening to pod casts and talking to my buddy who was a successful flipper/wholesaler (now a buy and hold investor) it makes more sense for me to buy properties that need work, fix them and hold them.

my brokers office is located about 50-60 (inland empire) miles away from where i spend most of my time at (los angeles/orange county).reason why i joined that office is because my buddy works there and wanted me to join. but im looking to farm in LA/OCMy business cards and postcards will have this inland empire address on it and im worried i will have trouble getting leads because my office is pretty far. will it effect my business?

Just a quick thought...even though much different markets, and not sure of tax implications....I bought my single family home as a primary residence that I could afford myself, but had a buddy live with me for about 3 years.
