Your parents are able to enjoy their backyard, swim in their pool and stretch their legs in their suburban home.

Why would a developer want to engage in tiny homes when they can invest their time in other endeavors and make more money doing so? 

Also, I do have student loans and will have no help from family members on this endeavor. 

I'm still young and I'm looking for a mentor in the Reno area, my biggest interests right now are in house hacking for my first purchase and building a portfolio of rental properties later on.I've worked construction the past few years and I'm really leaning towards DIYing renovations as I take real enjoyment out of the reno process.I would really enjoy working with someone who does there own renovations so I can learn on hand.

I don't need it to cash flow... it's for my family's enjoyment.

I was still working, enjoyed my job, and continued to work, but kept the idea of leading a deal as a back-up if the job went south. 

But overall, has been a good experience and we've certainly enjoyed having a vacation home in that area!
