I like housing shortages, it means higher rents.And there might no't be a real hosing shortage, some people in here may own over 70 SFH', that's not a shortage of homes.i think some areas may have a shortage of jobs that pay enough to buy a home, too many people chasing too few GOOD PAYING jobs.Housing shortages keep house prices high, preserving and growing your equity.Supply vs Demand.just my 2 cents.

I did a search of US banks in Colombia and JP Morgan chase / Citi came up.You may also want to see if there are any relationships that Colombian banks have with US banks to make the process of exchanging money much less.You may also want to reach out to a lender / title company in the US and ask how most foreign investors fund the deals.Best of luck.
