We want to build trains when automated driving technology is ramping up and will be common before the end of the decade.

Until these are automated, these jobs will have to be manned by people, who need a place to live. 

AI and automation has taken over all aspects of our life.

The issue I am worried most about is automation and artificial intelligence.  

I like what you said about automating the payments and the part about saving on the 'status symbols' and then having more flexibility with the small stuff.

That is definitely not a law that is good for businesses especially small business that can’t afford automation technology .If someone owns a home that is paid off or a tiny mortgage and enough to pay living expenses they have little incentive to move especially with Prop 13 keeping their taxes low .

Unless airbnb is totally on top of what is a very automated system, the OP's squatter can easily find a way to get a payment accepted.

I had to buy a credit card to build my score up and just automated saving to make it easy.

I'm working with a person in Canada to help me get each property launched on Airbnb and VRBO and to grow the business to 8-20 properties with automation to reduce the amount of time I spend each day managing the properties.
