Other than the big producing nations of the middle east we probably have the world's lowest tax on gasoline, forcing us to spend TRILLIONS per year maintaining the world's only (in the true sense of it) "Blue Water Navy, the most powerful air force and one of the most expensive armies.In order to lessen the tax hit on lower wage workers it should be phased in and accompanied by a decrease in the personal income tax on lower wage earners.

If you have a full time job producing that other income, it will be extremely difficult to prove you're a RE professional.Good rentals don't produce a lot of losses.

Mostly, the possible income that the cash out refi can produce for your parents, the debt that may be paid off, etc...they are keeping them from or obstructing fair trade.

My guess is W2 Rich ...Builders are out of luck as we have too many houses produced during the bubble so we need to chew up 3 years worth of building.So in the end buy cheap housing close to land value (Like 35K and Rent for 950 as listed in a previous post)Good Investing

Tax assessments for commercial/income producing properties generally have higher rates and will be viewed in a larger sample size in many areas, to justify assessments, so don't bank on these as your market value for any sale.
