The owner is a neighbor & a good friend so when he wanted new equipment financing he showed me his (real set) of books.

They also have all my gym equipment and my old bedroom could be converted into a work space for a small side business I want to start.We do have Uber, I never thought of doing that though.

Companies no longer invest or buy new equipment.

Fish tanks, computer equipment, lighting, heating pads, portable air conditioner, electric blankets, power tools, just on and on. 

I’m talking about elderly people whom make money from their barber shop, hair salon or maybe from selling sport equipment out their shop that they need to pay rent for.

Go to the people who do it all the time and have the tools and equipment to get a job done correctly.Debbie, call an agent broker and offer them a flat fee to write up the documentation on the transaction.  

Is there some little project that you could have the contractor do for the neighbor while they have equipment there?

Chances are if the fire department is calling them, they are a reputable company not a fly-by-night gang chasing around fire trucks.To the unfamiliar standard insurance prices seem high until one starts to consider the tremendous amount of capital it takes to have a 24/7 response, a stockpile of materials and equipment and the hefty price tag of liability insurance for this type of work (BTW--all the aforementioned are things your "handyman" likely isn't going to have.)

Unfortunately, most HVAC contractors are more geared toward marking up and installing expensive equipment and less toward problem-solving via less remunerative tweaking of systems.

I run a service bbusiness unrelated to real estate, but I have keys, gate codes, ID cards, passwords, everything I need to access other companies property, equipment, and computers.
