I am not done looking and will likely dig in deeper in the summer. 

So if I fight it, they may come back with an even higher 2017 appraisal if they dig deeper.

If I see a red flag, I'll dig deeper.

And because this animal that I didn't even choose, but he chose me which turned out to be the best cure for my situation, that I now need to conform to make everyone else happy, while I have to be put back into a depression now even deeper having to let go of one more thing that has been positive in my life and add it to the list of a marriage ending, my kids grown and moved on, my twin daughters dying at birth and my grandchildren too far for me to be with.  

Again, there are more things to look at but we start from here and then if a property matches the criteria then we dig deeper.

A few people may frown on this, but there are very valid reasons for this course of actions, and it's ultimately a win-win.It appears that the next steps for me, after the closing, would be to hire the right technicians, probably from the same utility company, to check things deeper and analyze what source is connected to what meter (including common areas).

If it looks suspicious, they will dig deeper when they sue you.

If you read deeper into the original question, it can easily be interpreted as "what's stopping people" that might want to...not necessarily why people don't need to.  

If I dig a little deeper I may notice that Apple earns $8.79 for every share whereas Amazon earns $3.96 per share....Digging even deeper, I wonder if market cap matters?

You need to dig deeper into their personalities if the facts are the same.
