NO Way,, it's for the duration of the period they stay with in the same apartment..If it a pet deposit fee.

The common thread of complains are: debris, too many people living in property, unauthorized pets and utility disputes on shared meters. 

And unless glade came out with cat piss scented plug ins, the tenants are not tidy with their pet.

We allow pets in ours and can charge a fee and higher rents because most of the competition does not.

Tenants seem amazed that I've done things like fix a loose baseboard, tighten the screws on a wall switch faceplate that was coming loose, removed and cleaned off an air return that was clogging with dust and pet hair and basically just take care of little things.  

Matt, I know some slow condo sales can be financing related (like no fha, va approval, etc); building related like pending assessments (or even ones being contemplated); even management or association issues like politics or disputes can deter people, as can rent to owner ratios, even pet policies.

Also what are the Pet requirements?

Boston has some very tenant friendly laws and one of them prevents charging extra for pets.

@jeff @Jeff Appleby since your looking at apartments in gvw, have you thought about buying them in buildings that are pet friendly?
