I've been watching the MLS and getting a feel for the price ranges in the neighborhoods, prices are all over the place.

Just wanted to get feedback from locals about the neighborhood.

1) Avoid Wasting time - (like pretending to do "research", or "organizing" or "reading up on investing";-) Do MAKE OFFERS!

But would still have a lot of $ left to do 20% down on a duplex in a less desirable neighborhood thst I want to live in.

Someone who lives near the neighborhood that drives by there will think the same thing. 

There is a house in my neighborhood that is in poor shape. 

Neil you might want to avoid chasing houses in newer or more desirable neighborhoods.

I also don't find it fair that after you pour all your hard work into a property, improve it thus improving the neighborhood, that a law can be enacted that controls what you can or can't do with that property.
