This sounds to me like it is specifically stating that you can't charge additional rent for someone with a child than you do for someone without a child (family status).  

Because on a hunch I looked at public records and saw that the young girl filed for child support against the father.

One red flag with me was child payments in arrears - gone baby!

I'd love to send one to my ex-husband who never paid a dime of child support.  

So often you are sucked into a parent / child relationship with them.
