Assuming you did this, which it sounds like you did- your insurance should be binding from the moment you wrote the check and the agency acknowledged receipt of the payment for it.

We just put a beautiful house in Garden Grove on the market on Friday and today received an offer from a local buying agent with a well known firm that he would like to hold open houses for us Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend in order to get a buyer and earn the 2.5% commission we're offering and that on top of that he will throw us an extra $500 for allowing him to do this.
