I will likely end up following the commercial RE path to get a job in that industry right out of school but ideally, I want to find a job in commercial RE where I can learn some skills that can be applied to residential RE investing as well.

I will actually be doing all the work on it to save some cost and to improve my skill set.

Real estate investing can be very successfully implemented as a team sport.One thing I learned from my career in general is that, unless there is a very specific skill set/experience you are seeking, it is best to get into the "field of your dreams" as quickly as possible.Good luck!

However this may conflict w/ the Skill Bridge program that I am doing in the last 6 months of my contract which stipulates that I will be separating afterwards.Note: Skill Bridge is a technical program that helps to transition service members into the civilian employment world by providing trainings for skills such as my program for Software Engineering.

I've been blessed enough to use the skills I've acquired over the years to pull myself out of the cycle of madness that I witnessed trapping the young men I grew up with.
