If this does not solve the problem it might be a good idea to relocate the smoke detector because I imagine it would get fairly annoying to have the smoke detector go off every time you try and cook.

If you follow Federal law and have a non smoking policy then you should have no problems controlling/preventing both the growing and smoking of pot on your property.
