The baseboard consumes most of its electricity during off-peak hours and stores the heat energy in the thermal mass ... releasing it during the peak hours with occasional firing to maintain the temperature of the storage mass.Ductless heat pumps work well for heating, even in the Canadian far north!

I just think for most of the people in high cost cities it won't be practical because of zoning .I think for many they are doing it to 'prove a point' either to themselves or others that they aren't consumers , or aren't big consumers more so than wanting to save money.

@Curt Davis  I think every consumer is going to have a different opinion, however with the TK offering that, it does add a little bit of assurace knowing the TK provider isn't jut selling a product and leaving.
