It still seems like everything is going to workout ok but I definitely could’ve done better.

This is a big first step and a huge decision, its crossed my mind that if I did rent and it doesn't work out I could still sell and get the equity out of the home but likely less after renters leave.

The main challenge with this land was access, it was hard to get to and since GPS didn't work out there, even harder.

Also, if you are living there certain mortgage holders take that into account when they look at the debt to income so it can be harder to get the numbers to work out (i.e. 3 of 4 units would be considered rentals). 

Which work out, I pay 2K$, and rent 1800$ for the bottom unit.
