I actually had a roommate do this to me once, and I told her if she was looking for cheaper rent she could move over the bridge (room rentals are generally cheaper on the mainland vs the barrier island where my house is).

I love the Big Island. 

I would be bored to death.. its all about the deal and the fantastic relationships I have fostered over a long career in real estate sales brokerage development building etc... its one reason I see wholesaling to not be that great. your kind of on an island.. you lose the ability to really network with movers and shakers.. you end up trying to sell homes for, many times folks in some sort of distress or dilemma and once your done your done.. no other deals.

I live in Providence Rhode Island and have been in the market for a three family for about 6 months.

Growing up on Long Island I'm very familiar with the cost of living there.

now, small commercial and islanding / micro grid type applications... that's a different story.

@Carlos Aquino I only know of one regular, sizable one in Rhode Island, RIREIG which meets monthly in Warwick.I think there may be smaller groups of folks that meet regularly too, which you could probably find on meetup.com.
