That being said, if you look at the smaller cabins (900 to 1,200 sq ft), I think the numbers are still very strong.

Like the emphasis on selecting efficient investments because of their economic prospects not because of their potential tax benefits.

On the flip side, a duplex or quad in SF would be a strong move for appreciation and diversification.

I strongly agree with Nathan but wanted to add that residential RE, even with the use of a PM, is not passive.
