(For another several thousand dollars in flights, hotels, and car rental on a complex that's not producing, change the management to another charlatan property management firm, and nothing changes except you're out a few thousand dollars and some vacation days from your real job.) 

It really hit hard, after flying a "date" out from Ohio to Denver (I paid for the flight) on Martin Luther King weekend in 2001 so we could ski together (we met New Year's 2000 while vacationing at Heavenly Ski Resort in Tahoe).  

I only have a couple of days down there before I have tocatch my flight back.

What we have in Oregon is white collar flight from CA predominantly. 

Its less than a day's drive away or you can hop on a direct flight out of SD airport and be in Boise less than 2 hours later.

Time to get on a flight and see what's going on in person ...

I work three days a week and one of the reasons I like this area is because of the accessibility from where I am (frequent, non stop flights).

We've had 40" of snow here this week and flights are still taking off like normal.In these instances I usually take it case by case.

So you'd be looking at high potential rental income, cheap properties or, even better a combination of the two.That prime candidates would be:Mexico and the Dominican Republic: cheap properties, mass tourism, occupancy all year long, closeness to North America, direct flights from North America, the US and increasingly Asia, strong international and domestic tourism and tourists coming from diverse locations.Southern Europe (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece): properties aren't necessarily that cheap (some are) but you have mass tourism there as well.Then you have secondary markets like Colombia or Brazil.
