Definitely sounds petty...We had a tenant bail on us years ago on our cottage rental because of bears.

The primary reason for them to sell would be to use those proceeds to purchase a lake home/cottage for retirement. 

Its a Duplex of about 2000 sq ft in the Front with a cottage around 1000 sq ft in the back with a big lot. 

I grew up in Delaware going to the beaches there, especially Fenwick Island and Ocean City MD, where my grandparents had a cottage. 

The price point in Boca and SouthFla is too extreme and you have to be lucky to find something that would make sense, even west of 441.Lake Worth and Boynton are upandcoming and Lake Worth has tons of MFR’s or SFR’s with cottages on same property that would serve as 2 units on one piece of land.I have a SFR in Lake Worth but opted to invest out of state as my dollar goes further there than here.

If that it too low should I start closer to $90kBeing a single family home with mother in law cottage, I should be able to get rental income of $800 while living in the cottage and a total of $1200 once I move out.

Yet our Lakehouse neighbor (5 properties down) FILLS his mediocre cottage @ $1500/weekend, $2500/week & his septic o/flows, it's a dump, no visible a/c & yet they keep coming back.
