For quality cabinets, take a look at some of the Ready To Assemble (RTA) cabinets as they are usually all wood construction, quality built and save you a good bit over store bought.

It's your own fault for leaving it in the line of fire of a cheap contractor.My contract is very, very explicit - the owner is to remove any and all items not used in assembly, and we are not responsible for damage or dirtiness to anything left on site.

I pay the extra $10 per cabinet to have the factory assemble them.

I've started assembling a team (GC, attorney, etc.)  

As far as I can tell the developer is basically assembling his own private money/Hard money fund, for this project.

I think the biggest risk is with finding the right assemble of contractors.I have had my share of kicking guys off of jobs threatening to keep tools and wasting money by trying to take short cuts.
