I may have shiny object syndrome... but I loved this idea so much when I heard it that I signed up the next day to get my notary commission (6 hour course to become a Notary Public in California, signed up through the NNA website). 

Don't get shiny object syndrome.

I try to keep that as a primary consideration, but it always seems to fall by the wayside when I find a seemingly good deal and succumb to the "shiny object" syndrome...I also did not know that little tidbit regarding Section 8 or other government assistance programs.And lastly, @Jean Mercer  - Ahhhh your experience sounds miserable!

The focus that results from that exercise will help stave off the shiney nickel syndrome and should lead to more productive use of your time.

The doctors diagnosed me with SCAS (sudden cardiac arrest syndrome) which can afflict people as young as 4 years old and strike at anytime.

The "shiny object" syndrome leads to overload.

Too many things can go wrong between that great freshman year and the time you're actually ready to be drafted to the pros (or as we New York Jets fans call it, Christian Hackenberg Syndrome).

That being said, don't fall victim to the paralysis by analysis syndrome!

Many heavy Drinkers (and smokers) in the Military, back in the 80's.After 2 1/2 years,  I not only had enough to put a large down payment on a nicer car (Shiny Object Syndrom), I also had enough saved to go on a 3 week trip all over Europe.
