My guess is You will need to go through a foreclosure process in this situation as a legal remedy.

What if it is your unit causing the water leak and there is mold and it's a $100,000 remediation that requires living elsewhere for 2 weeks while it is cleared. 

You are known by the company you keep, and deals with undisclosed problems should result in helping remedy it, or cutting ties.Even looking at the investment portfolio, seeing crypto in there makes me wonder if they were going too broad into areas they didn't know, just for the potential.Taking money just days before does look questionable.
