I have been fortunate to visit many Asian countries and befriend a great many filipino, japanese, korean, thai, and vietnamese during my stay in Hawaii.

@Mark Schaffar - Ah...Koh Phi Phi:  the quintessential Thai island, with jaw-dropping photo ops at every turn.  

@Huy Thai the homestead disappears when the title is changed to your name.

Don't market the other unit to a family, find another "herbal entrepreneur" and double the rent!

Huy Thai while its possible there is a scam there my bet is that it’s likely investors trying to implement some kind of seller finance strategy.

And Thai banks are generally unfriendly to loans to foreigners, not even considering non-owner occupied units.My first reaction was that my opportunities would thus be limited.
