We rent it out now and own another home right across the street that we owe more on but they both appraise at the same amount, however we plan on keeping the second one we bought (unless given a solid reason to not keep it but so far nothing has made sense for that)Our goal: to put 200k into as many reliable streams of income but not overwhelm ourselves with too rapid of growth to quickly or at least manageable growth.

@Edward Jakubiak, if you plan on purchasing the property as a STR I would be sure to analyze and make sure the deal works as a LTR due to the rapid changes in STR laws throughout many parts of the US.

I saw a home last month where the termites ate a wood truss so bad, the weight of the home compressed that 2x8 truss to a 2x6. 2 inches of movement is a lot.
