I'll usually try to place a butcher block near the sink, but now you'll separate the darker base cab from the others, and it'll have a lighter wood countertop, which will reflect the contrast of the darker wood crown and small facia (at the bottom of the uppers), which actually looks kinda cool.Also, I would use a real range hood vented to the exterior.

Some are the original wood color the others are white.

I use REI Guard on all my properties and it saves a lot in premiums.

If people like wood floors, go for the wood.

You might not want to use such a heavy-duty tool on wood that you plan to refinish, but refinishing seems unlikely here. 

Don't be surprised to find her growing pot in her place, or she's painted the entire apartment, walls, ceilings wood work black or something else, nothing would surprise me anymore.

Or do you know of any insurance companies that will cover aluminum wiring, even if the premium is higher? 

I elected more of the zeroscape and did wood mulch and spray with round up ground clear 2x per year.
