I was just notified by my CPA that a 1031 exchange might not be the  best way for me to take money from the sale of one property and buy another property.

I'm a strong believer in keeping your people first and while the goal is to be able to have financial freedom so that I can travel around the world, I want to be able to make sure that I take care of home first and give back.I found a meetup in the next couple weeks actually and I am so excited to attend and network!

Our CPA stated we have become negatively  leveraged.

We are thinking about attending the next REI meet up in Rhode Island so that way we can begin networking with others in our area.

Our portfolio is finally passive but it took many years to get there.In today's market, generating lots of profitable deal is the time challenge for investors (not PM) and it takes networking, marketing, and direct to owner contact; so, we have pivoted to more passive investing with others who have full time staff dedicated to deal flow every day. 

You learn rental vacancy by networking with other investors from the area.

The REIA here in town has changed somewhat in the last few years, but there's still networking opportunities there and there's a BP meetup here in town the fourth Thursday of each month, I think.  

@Rodolfo Canon I would second this - while I'm super new to the world of REI, I have been to a class that Chris, Charles and Joe put on and the info was great, environment was fun and it was a great way to network locally.

However, in Denver, we find deals through our network.
