Given that the homes are already occupied, the plan is for now to continue renting and not changing too much for the tenants due to so many stress that is going on for them and for us as well.

I would not do it all yourself unless you have only a couple units, even then it would probably reduce your stress levels.For searching use Zillow, Turbotenant and for rent signs.

Give them an extension, but stress that if it is not done by a certain date, you get all of your deposit back plus expenses (inspection, lawyer, etc) at that time.
