How has your search gone in the DFW area so far?

Since you're going to live in the property, I would keep your property search focus to the type of house you'd like to live.  

We purchased unit last year in South LA - we were searching from the 10FWY, East of Culver City, the 110 FWY, and down to the 105 FWY.

When searching for comps, am i restricted to automotive repair only leased space or can I also look at other types of leased space similar to the building layout.One final point.

The home is your free and clear after the deed from the auction is filed (typically within a week).To answer the last part of your question, you would need to do a title search (cost $150+) just to check on liens.
