We ride bicycles about 60 to 80 miles every week and we ride from Los Angeles to San Diego, 126 miles, in one day about 3 times every year.

You will quite likely thoroughly not enjoy the ride if you join for these reasons. 

I’m limited to only investing in certain funds and this roller coaster ride is wearing on me.

We have searched the fancy areas, and frankly, Wowzas regarding price - and not our aesthetic (very traditional, old fashioned, antiquated), it would take a lot of money to renovate after spending upwards of 1mil.

Not disagreeing with the thought process but I prefer to have a good bit of equity available, a good cushion of cash and knowing I can ride out a storm if everything went vacant for a while (which would or at least should never happen).But I do have debt, just not a ton of it.  

Knowing that ahead of time can help you deal with the roller coaster ride of emotions, at least it helped me.

Your contractor thinks they have something to gain by getting more scope and taking your for a nice ride.  

New construction is somewhat of a smooth ride after you pass the lot clearing stage compared to FLIP which is like box of chocolate.

My income is barely enough to live on so there's a lot riding on getting this right.
