@Paul Durham  Yup, it probably will be a huge event, and no business is going to be totally insulated from the effects of the economic fallout. 

2008 effected real estate values due to all the foreclosures on loans that never should have been made and variable interest rates going up to make payments unaffordable for many people.During recessions people tend to stay closer to home and not do as much international travel.I would venture a guess that some place as popular as the smokies would be about as recession proof as you can get.

Cook County Sheriff (Illinois) has just announced a 30 day moratorium on evictions due to the Corona Virus. Chicagoland area landlords are now looking at 5 month long eviction process!!!

Effective 3/16/20 Monday after 5pm.

This was cash out of pocket which isn't effective leverage.

Of course, if the crisis extends for 6 months to a year, then the ripple effect could cause real estate prices to tumble and we might see a "light" version of the last real estate crisis.

How does a large multifamily owner deal with this and how is it going to effect your business?

From my understanding this is not yet effecting mortgage rates and realtors should not be spreading this misleading information in my honest opinion.
