Once you get through in-take (which can take a while, as you've already found out), it could be a couple days or a couple weeks before permits are granted, depending on the number of questions/revisions they require, the complexity of the work, which departments need to approve it, etc.In this thread, I detail a new residential construction project that was permitted through City of Atlanta -- while the scope of this project is likely greater than what you're looking to do, it took us several months to get through permitting:Diary of a New Construction ProjectBy contrast, my partner has applied for new construction permits in a couple other counties, and permits can be granted in a matter of days.

Sounds like discrimination based on national origin to me.If you go to the Department of Justice's website, (http://www.justice.gov/crt/about/hce/housing_coverage.php#nat) you'll see that this type of discrimination is on the upswing.

Perhaps it was missed, criminal activity may allow the government to seize the property, it's not a bank foreclosure, the government takes it, auctions it off, pays liens off and sends the equity or ill gotten gains through the justice department funding operations.Call the Sheriff's Dept or county court records to see what the status is, if any, if there are such issues, you can't get anything from that sale.
