I wanted to redo the kitchen (break down one of the dry walls if the building permits it and new cabinets) and also thinking about renovating the two small bathrooms as well.

Purchased couple of duplexes at end of 2017 but havent been able to find anything with 20% ROI (10-15 net ROI) since.

I am interested in buying a duplex so I can start house hacking.

Currently, I rent a condo and would like to purchase a duplex to live in one and rent out the other as a way to get my feet wet and started with investing.

I hope to purchase my first property in the next 6-12 months - a duplex or triplex ideally. 

For duplexes is appx $500 a month in cash flow enough to take the risk on the downpayment?

But I'm still looking around the south sound area for the unicorn of an affordable duplex or triplex.

Hi all,I'm starting out my investing career with a buy and hold duplex in Worcester, MA.

I was speaking with a multi-billion $ institutional investor's COO several weeks ago and they said when they went to Wall Street to raise money, every banker wanted to know how much of their portfolio was based in Atlanta...meaning, Wall Street knows that Atlanta is a very stable and quality location to own in and while return may be lower than other higher risk areas, it is a quality area and top of the bell curve in most return and risk respects. 

I live in Denver and have put an offer on a duplex in Indiana.
