They started having financial difficulties a few months later, paid a few sizable payments and the rest is history.. havent received a rent payment in years and the homeowner cant do anything. wants to sell but doesn't want to kick friends out... every time she tells them to pay theres another excuse... at the time she thought it was a win win for everybody.

You will find it very difficult to find financing due to location/low cost, finding good tenants is much harder and you will have to lower your standards, safety concerns if you self manage, and difficulty trying to get anything done with the city.

There are some great opportunities in Killeen, and the Fort Hood military base isn't going anywhere any time soon.One of the difficulties with the Killeen/Fort Hood area is that builders are putting up new construction all the time, offering new places that are priced right within Soldiers' housing allowance rates.For MFH in the area, you have to be willing to honor the military clause and expect turnover every few years if you rent to military.
