You are talking about people's legacies, their life savings, all their blood, sweat, and tears of work for their profession or their business built up often after many decades of time.How can someone take something like that so lightly? 

@Eric Lunsford  Generally the interest income from private lending is taxed at the ordinary income tax rate, just like earned income from a job or interest on a bank savings account is taxed.

My interest is in building wealth through eventual buy and holds, but still working on the savings end of it all.
