I know that some people put a "cleaning" penalty in their agreements that will charge the vacationer if they have to clean up more than what is normally expected, if things are taken, etc, and they hold a credit card for this purpose.

Hey Folks, anyone in here knows the answer to this situation:If you buy a vacation home and the appropriate insurance for it at closing and then the insurance company inspector comes and views your house after a month or so and it is vacant as expected - then things check out, but if they see tenants living in the house - then the owner of the house has to change the vacation home insurance policy to a renters insurance policy?

Dont use excuses to stop you from moving forward, simply find a way to make it possible. my intent wasn't to throw up roadblocks, just setting expectations. the expectation of banks is usually for the borrower to have skin in the game, this is not a hard and fast rule, but one that shouldn't be expected to overcome.
