Finally after clearing out the boxes and bags of trash in front of the balcony door, we opened the door and were greeted with an interesting surprise -- more rotting food and dirty diapers and all sorts of other trash.Yes, that's another huge package of uncooked chicken on the porch.The contractor spent about the whole day getting rid of all the stuff and double bagging the food due to the smell.

Mind you, if your tenant gets kicked from S8 for doing something stupid such as not responding to annual income verification request S8 sends them, but you still have a lease with them in place, S8 will leave you holding the bag to evict the tenant and recover lost rent from tenant.

For now, I am just a free consultant for my landlord friends ha ha.Just today, I was walking by the dumpster outside that is under one of the old-fashioned garbage shoots, and of course, there is garbage all over the ground around it, because tenants just throw garbage into the shoot without bagging it first.

We usually hang shower curtains, add throw rugs, hangers and gift bags with tissue paper, a plant and door mat at the front door and lots of air fresheners.

Two days ago, I got a call from them saying there is mold on their furniture in the bedroom, the window in the bedroom and living room and a bag they had on the floor by their bed near the exterior wall.

If not, schedule a maintenance inspection, see if anything else looks like it might need attention, and try to get a read on what is really going on there.We did have one tenant who only had sleeping bags, this was their work location rather than home base; it does happen.
