On the flip side, I could see some people who would be OK with 5 years and this would just force some people to sit on their homes for longer periods of time, which would continue to contribute to the housing shortages we see today. 

This is not an indictment on you as a broker, your skills or abilities but purely a factor of the product type.

It’s an easily learnt (but tough to master) skill.

Though it may not be the way things work, I have some skills, in the multimedia space that could be leveraged to provide some value, for those interested in helping.

Apartment rentals/condos in Tilton claim to have waiting lists at this time, so maybe a shortage there to look at. 

I have no experience or marketable skills but I will do some leg work if that’s what it takes .

On the other hand, someone with no money and lots of debt but has the right skill and knowledge can do just fine.

Depends on the individuals skill set/ knowledge.For me it was figuring out the local markets.

Guess what, I wanted to make myself marketable and wanted to gain more skill so enrolled in school to get more education.

Account Closed mentioned in his post, I believe it all depends on how well you know your market, how widely marketed the deal your chasing is, and how confident you are in your negotiating skills.
