Send them a letter (not yellow letter because they are getting dozens of them) telling them you found their house to be apparently vacant.

I noticed across literally across the street was a completely vacant house, with a boarded up front door and windows covered in blinds, shades, and newspapers.I did a quick parcel search in my county and found the owner lives not too too far away.

Yes I did estimate a little bit of a negative cashflow at the beggining but I also found out that the leases are up very with in the next 3 months. 

I typed their name in Google and Facebook and found several leads.

I found out afterward when I ran into her a couple of days later.

I actually had one of the posts open in a browser on my phone a few days ago, and when I went back to finish reading it today, I got a "page not found" error.

I've spoken to a couple of agents, and I have not found anything that will provide sufficient return.And this week I had a thought (more than one, but one relevant to this discussion!)

My long term goal is to have rental properties that generate enough passive income to quit my Mon-Fri job and free me up to travel.I found BiggerPockets through a podcast search on real estate and have been hooked ever since.

It doesn't always take a bankroll either- I've found properties through cold calling property owners directly as well which just takes some time and persistence. 

There are plenty of other ways we've found properties but for a first one I think that would be best.
