Personally, I hate surprises and would always prefer to have actual factual data for my decisions. 

Hi Chris,Deciding to make a career change, especially to something that is purely commission based and has a lot of fees starting out, is a major decision. 

Drive the pockets, get a feel for the area and it will be easier for you to make decisions on properties when the time comes.

I travelled for my work, and for a few years we lived in Malaysia, and we made a conscious decision to stockpile our miles. 

I believe they have branches in Rockland County, which may be a bit too far for you, but I'll leave that decision up to you.

I will tell you that those nerves are normal and it means you are thinking carefully about the decision and understand its weight.

If you were buying 60% in an existing business, what percentage of the shareholders need to approve certain decisions?

Would this allow me maintain all financial decisions regarding the asset, without risk of getting sued or removed from the entity?

The rule doesn't help the person of more modest means who educates themselves and is fully capable of making their own investment decisions.
