3/8" is considered acceptable for the followingLavatories - < 1.5 GPM; Kitchen Faucets < 1.8 GPM; Toilets - 1.28 GPF & Shower heads - 1.75 GPMHowever, depending on your water supply PSI the pressure drop on a 3/8" supply line is considerable compared to 1/2" and 3/4" feeds, (& may not meet code).
