Always think of how it gets presented in court in front of a judge or jury.....big bad boy licensed realtor told me this or that or forced me to sign this or that, and I didn't have a clue what I was signing.....he didn't even tell me he was licensed and I never knew and never signed any disclosure forms.....that guy took advantage of my ignorance.

Maybe the plumber one as you don't say what the issue was but that he said you could have sued him, so that sounds to me like I'd be searching for a better plumber, but, even so, you worked it out without legal fees and hassles of court, so even there, it seems more pragmatic than pushover.

I forget the wording but it helps if they all abandon/trash  the apartment- with that clause you can take anyone of them to court- sometimes you can't locate everybody.

It stinks giving money back, if that is what it comes to, but if you dig your heels in, then end up in court, then potentially lose, you will still be out the money.
