I encourage you to always keep it in mind and do not be afraid to alter it if things change.

It sounds like you are in foreign territory, so I would encourage a lot of caution with any plan you move forward with.

I would encourage you to find someone who is experienced in doing lease options in the area in which you want to do them in and then work with that person to learn how to do them correctly.

I'd encourage you to flesh out what Brandon and David are always talking about on the podcast:  search out the people you want to learn from, figure out what YOU can do to lighten their load of help them go even further, and then add that value to them.
