I couldn't even cool down enough to enjoy the 9am kayak tours on Whiskeytown Lake.I have to crack up when people use the term "but it's a dry heat."  117 degrees is never going to feel like 75 dry or wet.Now, I will say that as far as an affordable town in CA, I did like Redding - other than the heat, and could have stayed if it wasn't for that.
