What should I check to confirm if I can legally register the Airbnb under my LLC for rental properties as a different series? 

I've bought all different styles and qualities depending on the comps though.

In most places, like Benjamin already mentioned, STRs and MTRs have different legal requirements and considerations.

Especially since these losses may never become useful; it's debatable whether documenting prior losses with such returns is required; rules differ from state to state etc.Just like the rest of you, I want clarity, but I do not have it.

Makes a huge difference in your rental ask amount and demand.I am not sure how you got the numbers to work on your new construction house.  

My kids are older now, 18 & 19, so it's a bit different. 

@Aaron Dixon Welcome to the bay area.Lot's of options and differing areas all within an hour radius.House hacking would be a great way to enter the market here.I'd suggest deciding how far (long) you are willing to commute and narrow your buying / living range accordingly.
