So we subsequently had to then "rectify" all the previous work - the absolute cost to rectify it was not much (less than a grand);  however, we had to get 3 permits pulled, and it took 4 (yes, 4) months before the city finally signed off on everything.

There's no marketing involved in getting you to use your own home, there's no guest communication during your stay required, etc.I realize $50 is nothing in the grand scheme of things but the idea of paying someone $50 to let me use my own home that I own is ridiculous.Again though, that is assuming you are paying the cleaning fee on top of this.
