If I was making this post a few years back, I would certainly be leaning towards the House Hacking method, but I don't think she'd go for living in a duplex/triplex with other tenants, and considering we have two Australian Shepherds.Anyway, this is where my head is at for our first strategy: Buying our first live-in home as a fixer-upper and kinda/sorta implementing the BRRRR strategy.

bearing in mind we are heading for a Global recession again - but as they say " every cloud has a silver lining " I've already found a couple of properties through "Redfin" but due to me detailed questions I've raised for my due diligence they ( Redfin )  have suggested I find a more local agent to help me hence my enquiry to Branden !!

You are also covering all utilities.This happened because the previous owner/resident let her live there for free and was quite right in the head and then died, and you were either dumb enough to purchase the property or unlucky enough to inherit it (in this case, the latter).The tenant gets $900 a month social security, but is probably not too old to work.Can the new owner raise her rent from zero to $2000 a month?
