In fact, a good friend of mine did this even though he didn't receive a discount because he was a trader on an exchange and his monthly cash flow fluctuated greatly.

I'm 61, so my background goes back too far to be relevant, but I am formally educated, I owned a 7-Eleven franchise from 2006 to 2016, and since then I've been an active trader focused on trading options and managing my investment portfolio.

I will mention that this same relative owned a 2 bedroom Condo in Carol Gardens just a few blocks away from the Trader Joe's on Atlantic Ave and Court Street.They sold that Condo around 2009 and bought their home in Briarwood for approximately the same price (around $800k).HOWEVER, the Condo is probably worth around $1.3 Million or so and their Briarwood Home may not be worth more than $900k to $1 Million.The appreciation factor is much different.That being said, they moved mainly because they expanded their family (2 kids) and wanted a bigger place than a 2 Bedroom Condo.You can't put a price on having a great space for your family!

This was drummed home to me when (for a short period of time) I was a starting commodities trader with UBS.

@Terry Lao I liken that chart to when the stock traders on CNN say buy this stock, after they have already bought a bunch of it and watch the buyer frenzy take over and make them money. 

In my trading days we used a term paralysis by analysis for those traders that looked at so much data they couldn't actually put a trade on.  

I'd had a great career trading for hedge funds and decided to teach retail traders. 

In that sense, it's not for people with a "day trader" mindset. 

Since then, the bond traders are now signaling that same sentiment.We are down to a 43% chance of a cut in March and 82% chance in June.
